What it's like working with Rude Health Rocks
On this page, you'll find the results that our
clients are getting, insight into our beliefs and philosophies,
our approach and what makes us different to most
stress management consultants out there.
When you start working with us you
can expect your stress levels to drop, freeing you up to be more
effective and productive.
You’ll have more energy to deal with life. We'll work
with you to reduce or even eliminate most of those things that
just seemed to drain energy from you. We'll help you find ways
to maintain your focus on what is most important to you and
ignore the increasing number of distractions that can drag you
down.
Feelings of overwhelm will be reduced.
You will be able
to think more clearly and make better decisions. We'll work with
you to develop unique habits for your situation that keep you
resourceful. You’ll learn how to cut through the chaos and use
your energy on core activities. You'll develop useful strategies
for making decisions about what you need to do, what others need
to do and what can be ignored.
You'll develop robust habits for maintaining physical and
emotional good health. The core of successful long-lasting
change is to turn things into good habits, habits that are
almost automatic so you do not need to think about them. This
frees you up to focus on just the things that need your
conscious attention.
You’ll be able to reduce or eliminate destructive habits like
excess drinking, smoking and overeating. When you’ve
developed enough stress-eliminating habits you’ll feel better
and have more energy. The old, destructive habits you’d slipped
into will just fall away as they no longer serve any useful
purpose for you.
You’ll develop reliable ways of putting social and family
activities back into your life so you feel better about yourself
and more confident about the life you’re creating. Instead
of seeing a tired, stressed person in the mirror, you’ll start
to see the fun-loving, easy-going relaxed person that enjoys
life again.
Beliefs and philosophies that guide our practice
We believe there’s always something you can do to improve a
situation, even a seemingly hopeless one.
We think prevention is better than cure. It makes far
more sense to take preventative measures to avoid serious
problems, than to wait until serious, life-changing health
problems happen before you take measures to improve things.
We think in terms of ‘constant improvement’ rather than
radical change. Our experience has taught us that good
changes happen one mindful step at a time. Radical change can
cause additional stress and often throws out lots of things that
are already working well. We believe in building on what’s
already working by making steady incremental improvements. This
approach has been shown to give the highest chance for long
lasting success, because the new behaviours build on existing
strong foundations.
We're committed to working with our clients to produce
lasting solutions that will serve them long after they have
finished working with us.
We believe work can and should be a fulfilling experience.
While profitability is all-important, sacrificing satisfaction
and good health is not optional. We believe it’s essential that
people have an enjoyable lifestyle that respects their health
now and into the future.
Our approach & what it's like working with us
We listen carefully to you so we can find out what's
important, what your priorities are, what challenges you’re
facing and how you want things to be different.
Our aim is to help you develop good habits around the
most important things in your life, so that the important things
happen automatically. When good supporting habits are in place
you hardly need to think about them. You can rely on those
things being there, so you can get on with enjoying life.
We keep sessions light and enjoyable, even though the
issues can be serious. We are as committed to enjoying the
process as we are to getting results. In fact, we believe that
you get better results when you do have fun. This doesn't mean
that we waste precious time – yours or ours – clowning around
and avoiding issues. When it comes to managing stress and
forming new habits, having a light attitude is not only
desirable, it keeps you going and rubs off on others.
We get to the core issues as quickly as possible. As we
identify clear blocks or misunderstandings in our clients, we
will address them promptly. If we believe clients are selling
themselves short, or ignoring issues, we will challenge them on
this.
We'll tell you if issues arise that are
outside our area of expertise. We will recommend you seek
help from someone trained in the relevant field. We don't
believe in wasting your valuable time – or ours – on strategies
that won't improve your situation.
What makes us unique?
We deliver our service by phone,
in short, focused
sessions. This means that it’s practical, for busy people to
fit into their schedule.
We approach stress management with years of experience
helping people overcome ill-health that was induced by stress.
Our focus now is to help people deal with the causes of stress
before long-term health problems occur.
We have a large ‘toolkit’ of resources and experiences to
draw upon from the fields of complementary medicine, holistic
health care, neuro-linguistic-programming, management, coaching
and integral leadership.
Why our approach is so powerful
We specialise in asking good questions, rather than
giving easy answers. This gives you the chance to think
differently about your situation, and come up with your own
solutions.
Think of this example. If you walk into the self-help section
of a bookshop, there's probably at least half a shelf of
different books on each topic, with more in the pipeline to be
published. Logically, we would say that those books don't work,
because, if they did work, there wouldn’t be a need for them
all. A vital point that’s overlooked is that the key to each
author’s ‘self-help’ success was that they found their solution
for themselves.
Few of us truly accept being told what to do. We’d rather
solve things for ourselves, because that way we gain strength
and learn skills we can apply independently in the future.
Now you've seen how we work, what makes us unique and what
we can offer, take a look at
Our Service.
